2023 brought 10 Marvel movies and shows, 7 of them MCU titles, adding up to about 43h 56m. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 earned the most, $846 million worldwide. The full list is below, in release order.

Marvel in 2023

2023 was a difficult year for Marvel Studios. Quantumania opened Phase Five in February with Jonathan Majors as Kang, then dropped 69 percent in its second weekend, the steepest drop for any MCU film. Bob Iger said Disney would release less Marvel content. In December, Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment and fired, which left the Kang storyline without a lead. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 did well in May.

The writers' and actors' strikes affected the schedule directly. The Avengers film now called Doomsday was delayed partly because of the WGA strike, and the cast of The Marvels couldn't promote it. The Marvels made $206.1 million and became the MCU's lowest-grossing film. Sony's Across the Spider-Verse did much better at $690.8 million.
