  2. 2Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness2022

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Strange arrives in 2016 as an arrogant surgeon who loses the use of his hands and finds the Mystic Arts. By Infinity War he’s guarding the Time Stone, and by No Way Home he’s the one who cracks the multiverse open.

Multiverse of Madness (2022) is closer to a sequel to WandaVision than to the first Doctor Strange film, so watch that series first. It’s also the film that explains incursions, the collapsing universes that the Multiverse Saga is building toward. For an alternate take, the first season of What If...? builds an episode around a Strange who refuses to accept loss; our What If...? watch order covers all three seasons.
