Who is Sue Storm?
Sue Storm was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and debuted in Fantastic Four #1 in 1961, which made her Marvel's first female superhero of the Silver Age. She can turn invisible and project force fields, and over the decades she has grown into one of the most powerful members of the team, the steady center of a book built around family.
Rebecca Staab played her in the unreleased 1994 Fantastic Four. Jessica Alba played her in Fox's Fantastic Four (2005) and Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), and Kate Mara took the role in the 2015 reboot.
Vanessa Kirby plays Sue in The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025), which is set in a retro-futuristic 1964 on Earth-828. This version is Reed's wife and Johnny's older sister, and she's expecting a baby. She founded the Future Foundation, a philanthropic group credited with helping bring about global peace. Then the Silver Surfer arrives with word that Galactus has his sights on Earth. Kirby is confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027).
