The last Marvel Television series, released on Hulu and canceled after one season.
About Helstrom
Helstrom only ran for this one season. Daimon Helstrom is an ethics professor who hunts demons on the side, and his sister Ana runs an auction house as cover while tracking down criminals. The two are pulled back together when their mother, Victoria, an institutionalized patient, is revealed to be possessed by a demon called Kthara. Their serial-killer father, Marduk, hangs over everything. Henry, the Caretaker, a guardian of the occult, helps them, along with Ana's business partner Chris Yen and Vatican agent Gabriella Rosetti.
Paul Zbyszewski, formerly an executive producer on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., created and ran the show, loosely adapting Marvel's Daimon and Satana Hellstrom. Tom Austen and Sydney Lemmon lead, with Elizabeth Marvel as Victoria, Robert Wisdom as Henry, June Carryl as hospital head Louise Hastings and Mitch Pileggi as Marduk. All 10 episodes came out on Hulu on October 16, 2020. Critics praised the effects but not the characters, giving it 27% on Rotten Tomatoes.

- It was the last live-action series made by Marvel Television, which was folded into Marvel Studios during filming.
- Disney shortened the title to Helstrom and left the Marvel logo off the episodes.
- Filming took place in Vancouver from October 2019 to March 2020.
- The show references Roxxon, the corporation that also crops up in the MCU.
How to watch it
Watch Helstrom on its own. Its creator called it a standalone story, and it doesn't cross over with the MCU films or the other Marvel TV shows. It fits best at the tail end of the Marvel Television era, after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Netflix shows. Expect the story to center on the family and on Victoria and Kthara rather than monster-of-the-week cases. It's for viewers who prefer slow-burn possession horror to superhero action.
