Our working name for the MCU’s next saga. Kevin Feige has said mutants will lead it, but Marvel hasn’t officially named it, and the phase layout isn’t confirmed.
Unofficial name Marvel hasn’t officially announced this name or which films belong to it. We use it as a working label so the upcoming films have a home, and we’ll update it the moment Marvel confirms anything.
After Avengers: Secret Wars, the MCU moves into its next saga, and Kevin Feige has made it clear that mutants will be at the center of it. Marvel hasn’t given the saga an official name yet; “Mutant Saga” is how fans and press usually refer to it.
The groundwork has been laid for years. Ms. Marvel and Wakanda Forever both drop mutant hints, X-Men ’97 brought the animated team back, and Deadpool & Wolverine connected the Fox universe to the MCU. Several Fox X-Men return in Avengers: Doomsday.

Three films are dated for 2028: an untitled X-Men movie on May 5, Ghost Rider on July 28 and Black Panther 3 on December 15. The X-Men film has a fresh cast rather than a continuation of the Fox films, with Kit Connor as Cyclops and Sadie Sink as Jean Grey.
