MCU Phase Seven in Order

What comes after Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel hasn’t officially named or laid out Phase Seven yet, so this is our working grouping of the films slated for 2028: the MCU’s X-Men reboot, Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3.

Unofficial name Marvel hasn’t officially announced this name or which films belong to it. We use it as a working label so the upcoming films have a home, and we’ll update it the moment Marvel confirms anything.

Phase Seven opens the MCU’s next saga once Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027) wraps up the Multiverse Saga. Kevin Feige has said mutants will be central to what comes next, and Secret Wars is the likely bridge: a story about colliding realities is a natural way to bring the X-Men into the main MCU timeline.

Three films are dated for 2028: an untitled X-Men movie (May 5), Ghost Rider (July 28) and Black Panther 3 (December 15). The studio regularly reshuffles its calendar as a phase gets close, so treat the order below as provisional.

If you want to be ready, the mutant groundwork is spread across several projects. Ms. Marvel and Wakanda Forever both drop hints, Deadpool & Wolverine tied the Fox X-Men films to the MCU, and X-Men ’97 shows how Marvel Animation handles the team. Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars will matter most, since they decide which characters and which version of reality carry forward.

Black Panther 3 is expected to continue from Wakanda Forever. Ghost Rider would be the character’s first MCU film; Gabriel Luna’s Robbie Reyes in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the closest Marvel has come so far. We’ll update this page as titles, casting and dates are announced.
