Why it matters now
It's a rare live-action take on Marvel's kid superhero team, an unsold pilot that Fox aired as a Saturday morning special.
About Power Pack
Power Pack is a 27-minute live-action pilot based on Marvel's team of superpowered siblings. Paragon Entertainment Corporation and New World Television developed it for NBC's Saturday morning kids block, and a pilot was made, but NBC passed. Fox picked it up as a Saturday morning special instead of ordering a series and broadcast it on September 28, 1991.
Alex, Julie, Jack and Katie Power are getting ready for a new school year while handling ordinary kid problems and their secret powers. Then there's Dr. Mobius, a phantom said to haunt an abandoned house. The pilot changes a fair bit from the comics: the parents know about the powers, Julie is fast but can't fly, Jack shrinks instead of turning into a cloud, and nobody wears a costume. Nathaniel Moreau, Margot Finley, Bradley Machry and Jacelyn Holmes play the kids. Fox later reran it on Fox Kids during the off-season.

How to watch it
It's a self-contained half hour with no ties to any other Marvel film or show, so watch it whenever curiosity strikes. Expect early-'90s Saturday morning production values and a lighter, more domestic tone than the comics. It makes a good double bill with other one-off Marvel TV pilots, like Pryde of the X-Men or the 1977 Spider-Man TV film, if you're exploring Marvel's pre-MCU screen history.
