About Marvel’s Spider-Man (2017)
This version of Spider-Man focuses on Peter Parker the science kid. After the radioactive spider bite and Uncle Ben's death, Peter enrolls at Horizon High, a school for gifted students run by Max Modell, where his classmates include Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn and Anya Corazon. Norman Osborn and the Jackal drive the first season, season 2 brings in the Superior Spider-Man and the Goblin King, and the third season, Maximum Venom, deals with a Klyntar invasion.
Kevin Shinick developed the series for Disney XD, where it replaced Ultimate Spider-Man. It ran from August 2017 to October 2020 over 58 episodes, plus six origin shorts. Robbie Daymond voices Peter, with Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales, Laura Bailey as Gwen Stacy, Max Mittelman as Harry Osborn, Scott Menville as Doctor Octopus and Fred Tatasciore as Max Modell. Collider's review of the premiere praised its focus on Peter's scientific mind.
Good to know
- Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy both get big arcs across the three seasons.
- Six short origin episodes, released the month before the premiere, retell the spider bite so the series can hit the ground running.
- This Spider-Man also guest-stars in Avengers Assemble season 5 and Guardians of the Galaxy.

How to watch it
Start with the six origin shorts, then watch the seasons in order, since the Horizon High and Osborn storylines build across them. You don't need Ultimate Spider-Man first, as this is a fresh start. The Superior Spider-Man episodes in season 2 are the standout arc. Younger fans are the target, but anyone who likes a Peter who solves problems with science as much as webs will enjoy it.
