Why it’s worth knowing about
Fisk gets out of prison and turns the FBI against Matt. Often ranked the best Netflix Marvel season.
About Daredevil: Season 3
Season 3 picks up after The Defenders. Matt Murdock is presumed dead, and he wakes up badly hurt in a convent, his senses unreliable and his faith shaken. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk cuts a deal with the FBI that gets him out of prison and into a guarded hotel penthouse. While Karen and Foggy try to stop Fisk's comeback, Fisk starts working on an unstable FBI agent, Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter, and agent Ray Nadeem begins to doubt the case he is building.
Erik Oleson took over as showrunner, loosely drawing on Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's "Born Again" comics without adapting them directly. Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Vincent D'Onofrio return, joined by Wilson Bethel as Dex, Jay Ali as Nadeem and Joanne Whalley as Sister Maggie. All 13 episodes came out on October 19, 2018. Reviewers rated it among the best of the Netflix shows (97% on Rotten Tomatoes), and it won the Saturn Award for best streaming superhero series. Netflix canceled it a few weeks later.

How to watch it
Watch The Defenders first, since this season opens on its fallout. Season 3 starts slowly while Matt recovers, then accelerates from "Blindsided" (episode 4). "Karen" (episode 10) is worth watching even if you skip around. Go straight to Daredevil: Born Again afterward; it brings back Cox, D'Onofrio, Woll, Henson and Bethel. Best for fans of slow-burning crime drama and anyone who rates D'Onofrio's Fisk as Marvel's best villain.
