Why it’s worth knowing about
Baymax comes from Marvel Comics, and this is a gentle follow-up to Disney's Big Hero 6 (2014) with Scott Adsit back as the voice. It's also the first TV series Walt Disney Animation Studios ever made.
About Baymax!
Baymax! is a six-episode Disney+ miniseries that premiered on June 29, 2022. It follows Baymax, the healthcare companion robot from Big Hero 6 (2014), as he looks after people around San Fransokyo. Each short episode pairs someone's physical ailment with the emotional issue underneath it.
Don Hall created the show, and Cirocco Dunlap wrote every episode. Scott Adsit voices Baymax, with Ryan Potter and Maya Rudolph also in the cast. There's no superhero action here; it's a small, funny show about care. It's set in the film's continuity, making it the second series after Big Hero 6: The Series. It was also the first TV series produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, and it won Children's and Family Emmy Awards for writing and editing.

How to watch it
You can watch the whole thing in about an hour. It works on its own, but it lands better if you've seen Big Hero 6 (2014), since the show assumes you know Baymax, Hiro and San Fransokyo. In release order it comes after Big Hero 6: The Series. It's aimed at families, so it's an easy pick for kids who aren't ready for the Avengers.
