It’s easy to forget that the modern Marvel movie boom started with a vampire hunter. Blade (1998) was R-rated, stylish and profitable, and its success helped convince studios that Marvel characters could carry films. Guillermo del Toro directed the sequel, Blade II, which many fans consider the best of the three.

Marvel Studios announced an MCU Blade with Mahershala Ali in 2019. The project has been through several writers and directors and has no release date. Blade has still turned up in the MCU in a couple of surprise appearances, listed below.
